The Blue Gamble — A Stolen Piece

The Vanished Vase

This carved vase is about to face its final trial: the glaze firing.
Its porcelain body still holds the memory of those days spent carving, when floral lines were drawn by hand, one by one, onto its still-tender surface.

I chose a new blue glaze for it — a shade I didn’t take the time to test. Impatience got the better of me. Or maybe it was curiosity. Likely both. I have a feeling the colour will turn out darker and more vivid than expected.

But that’s part of the creative process too: making room for the unknown.
This vase carries that gamble — the deliberate risk of a colour that may run, surprise… or disappoint. Time will tell.

August 16, 2025 — I regret to officially announce the disappearance of this piece. It vanished… or rather, it was stolen. A sad ending that cuts its story short before I ever had the chance to share it.
