Lady Copper
Lady Copper was the first of the trio to come to life. She was unveiled at the end of 2024 in a post on my blog. At the time, I imagined a much larger collection, but my friend Wheelfrid Le Tour started calling… and I simply couldn’t ignore him!
So don’t be surprised if several wheel-thrown pieces start appearing soon (and perhaps a few new Ladies later this year…).
Lady Blue
Lady Blue gave me a bit of a challenge. Each clock I create is unique, handmade with a touch of improvisation. The Lady model is distinguished by its slightly convex back, a curve I had already defined when making the first Lady.
Confident that everything was under control, I didn’t think it necessary to make a template or carefully measure the interior space left after shaping.
Calculation error!
When it came time to insert the mechanism, I realized I was missing… one millimeter. A very small millimeter that suddenly became critically important.
Fortunately, the story ends well: after a discreet surgical intervention (thanks to my faithful toolbox), Lady Blue regained her balance and now works perfectly.
Lady Pink
Lady Pink’s dial stands apart from the other clocks I’ve created so far. On the one hand, the numbers have been replaced with hearts, and on the other, these hearts are not engraved using the Mishima technique, as on my other models, but applied in glaze on the surface.
But what truly makes Lady Pink my little favorite is probably my enduring love for pink.
