The holidays are now behind us, along with the bustle of gatherings and shared moments. January arrives as a natural transition — a time to start the engine again, gently.
Creation resumes gradually.
I take the time to observe what had begun to emerge before the holidays: a tendency, a direction taking shape, which will bring a subtle shift in the next batch of pieces. Nothing radical — more of an evolution — before returning to what feels deeply familiar to me: my style, my language.
One thing has become clear with some distance: the sense of absence I felt while creating a series of uncarved pieces. That detour was not without value. It allowed me to refine forms, approach volumes differently, and sharpen certain gestures. But it also confirmed something essential: carving is an integral part of my practice.
January, then, is a time to adjust, to understand, to integrate.
Not in urgency, but with intention. Restarting without forcing, so what comes next can be built on solid ground.
